12 Weeks of Guided Post-Treatment Recovery

You made it through active treatment. But now you’re left asking…

  • Why do I still feel so tight and stiff?
  • Why does my body feel weak or unfamiliar?
  • Is it safe to lift weights again?
  • What about cording, swelling, or lingering pain?
  • How do I actually get back to normal life?

Most women are told they’re “done” with treatment… But no one shows them how to rebuild. You go from weekly appointments and a full team of doctors to… nothing. No plan for your strength, no guide for your stiffness. RESTORE bridges that gap.
Hi, I’m Ashlynne. I’m a breast cancer physical therapist and survivor.

I created RESTORE because I know what it feels like to finish treatment and still not feel like yourself.

I’ve read the research as a Physical Therapist, and I’ve felt the gap in guidance as a survivor.

I created this program to restore my own function after treatment ended—and now, I’m honored to share that guidance with you. You don’t have to navigate this phase alone.

FAQ

Can I start this program if I’m still in active treatment?"
This program is specifically designed for those who have completed active treatment (Surgery, IV Chemotherapy, and Radiation). However, there are two exceptions where you can start RESTORE while still in treatment:

  • You are receiving ongoing Herceptin treatments.
  • You are Stage 4 and will be on treatment indefinitely.

In both cases, if your doctor has cleared you for exercise, this program is appropriate and safe for you to begin.
You don’t need a full gym. Most of the progressions can be done with a set of resistance bands and a light pair of dumbbells (or even household items like water bottles). I’ll show you how to use what you have.
I know your schedule is already packed with follow-up appointments. The workouts are designed to be efficient—roughly 30-40 minutes, 3 times a week—so you can rebuild your strength without it becoming another full-time job
Yes. In fact, RESTORE includes specific mobility work designed to address radiation fibrosis and cording (axillary web syndrome). We don’t just “work around” the tightness; we use evidence-based movement to help improve it.
Absolutely. Bone density and joint health are huge concerns during hormone therapy. This program focuses on weight-bearing exercises that help protect your bones and movement strategies to manage treatment-related joint stiffness.
You’ll learn how to adjust intensity and movement based on your symptoms, with modifications provided throughout the program.
The chart above details the clinical and physical milestones for each track. Generally, Moderate is best for post-reconstruction with tissue flap (DIEP/TRAM) or those managing persistent fatigue, while High is for those ready for a faster, more athletic pace. P.S.

Finishing treatment doesn’t mean your recovery is finished. This is the phase where you rebuild your strength, your confidence, and your connection to your body. And having the right plan makes all the difference.
